Uchikake is a traditional Japanese bridal kimono. Like in the West, they are typically white in color — called shiromuku. If the kimono is red or another color it’s called an iro (color) uchikake. Uchikake is highest quality and most luxurious style of kimono in Japan. They feature beautiful embroidery, are skillfully dyed by artisans and renowned for their craftsmanship.
